Can anyone tell me something about the writer Patrick Suskind and his works?

Hello, I'm going to give a presentation on the book "The Perfume – the story of a murderer who has just made a movie and shown in some cinemas.I m 'to find information about the author and social (in the novel historical, religious, political) context. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much!

+ Patrick Suskind (* March 26, 1949 in Ambach, Starnberger See), studied history in Munich and Aix-en-Provence, lives in Munich, Seeheim (Starnberger See) and Montolieu, France (with his partner Tanja Graf and son). His father, Wilhelm Emanuel was a writer, translator and journalist for Süddeutsche Zeitung (one of five leading German newspapers), his older brother, Martin E. Suskind is a reporter too. Suskind is a descendant of the world famous Bible exegete John Albert Bengel and reformer Johannes Brenz. His most famous work is "Perfume – The Story of a Murderer (1985), which has been translated into 46 languages and sold nearly 15 million copies, now filmed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) – the production company paid about EUR 10 million and development rights in history. He co-authored the series of mini Monaco Franze (1982) and Kir Royal (1986) and co-.wrote films Rossini (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120037/) and Vom Suchen und Finden der Liebe (http://www.imdb. com/title/tt0383041 /). (I must admit that I so like the television series and horror movies!). His play The Double Bass (1981) is a monolgue Stroker and more than 500 actions had on the season of 1984/85 was the most performed work in German-speaking theaters. Yet is part of the repertoires of many German and international theaters. Suskind completely refuses to be part of public business literature. Rarely gives interviews, does not appear in public and has refused to accept several awards Turkan award in 1987 and the FAZ and (another major daily) literature prize (1987). It appeared at the premiere of the film The Perfume. It is said that the "author shy in Rossini is a reflection of self irony of his own person: the author denies that his book made into a film although they have offered a lot of money. The "producer" is said to be near a portrait of the actual producer of the film, Bernd Eichinger, who at that time not yet reached Suskind convince to sell the film rights to his book to him. Hardly Süskind photos available despite having a small role in Monaco Franze. Works: Der Kontrabass, 1981 Das Parfum, 1985 Die Taube, 1987 Die Geschichte von Herrn Sommer, 1991 Story (Mr. Sommer) Drei Geschichten, 2005 (Three Stories and a consideration) Uber Liebe und Tod, 2005 (On Love and Death dashes): Der ganz normale Wahnsinn, 1980, with Helmut Dietl (Madness quite common) Monaco Franze, 1982, with Helmut Dietl Kir Royal, 1986, with Helmut Dietl Rossini – oder die Frage Mörderische, wer schlief MIT WEM, 1997, with Helmut Dietl Vom Suchen und Finden der Liebe, 2005, with Helmut Dietl definetely The man is "difficult to achieve."
