glycerin soap chemistry

What is the hardening agent used in glycerin soap?
I'm making soap in a chemistry lab, but we are using coconut oil and Crisco, but I want to make clear soap can put miniature toys in them. My chemistry teacher said if I can find out the agent hardening used in glycerin soap then I could.
Clear Soap is difficult to make from scratch. You can make regular soap (such as Crisco and coconut oils), and lye, then boiled with alcohol to obtain a clear (ISH) of soap. But this is no walk in the park, and alcohol is flammable. You can also add stearic acid to harden a soap, but the melting point is very high cursed. And it's likely your opaque soap anyway. … Or you can buy transparent melt and pour soap base in the craft store. Easy peasy.
